Losing 95 Pounds

I was obese, I had an arthritic knee, I limped and could not fit in many tight places, like the movie theater seats.

My clothes looked like tents. My doctor told me that I had to loose weight. a couple of years ago. I said ok, I will do it.

So i looked for things that fat people could do as an exercise program.. That was horrifying.

When you are so fat that you can't bend down and tie your shoes you wonder what exercise can I do?... that was me...

My husband use to tie my shoes for me... Help me up from a chair and so many other things. Thank God he didn't marry me for my body...

I searched for tapes but the only thing I found was skinny people jumping around, bending in all kinds of direction. I couldn't do that!

I looked at the paper that the doctor had given me, the food that I could only eat because he also said that I was a diabetic. I cried that night... But it was my fault... I had to deal with what made me into that person.

I really didn't want to go to the gym in my neighborhood. Everyone there were fit. I felt that they were looking and judging.

So here's what I did and maybe this will help someone who is really heavy.

I walked.... I found a tape call "Walk away the Pounds" Leslie Sansone - it is designed for heavy people...

I looked at the paper and figured out what I was going to eat everyday...

I really counted calories and wrote down everything I ate.

I ate a lot of apples... keep fruit and lots of water all the time.

I was able to exercise for 30 minutes with the 1 mile walk, the first time I did it I was glad that I made it though the whole session, it was easy and fun.

Within the first week I lost my first 8 lbls... I was thrilled

After 3 weeks doing this, my knee was stronger, I could move around better...

I was now doing 2 miles a day with weight training... Within 3 months I had lost 50 lbs, I was really starting to like myself.

Total weight lost since, well, I have taken off 95 pounds, I just lost another 15 lbs in the last month in a half.

What I want to encourage others is never give up... I had a season that I would not exercise or eat the right thing all the time. When you get in that season, quickly find out why.

I ate food to satisfy what was paining me at the time... When I was unhappy, I didn't want to do anything...

It's ok, just get up and start getting in gear again... You will feel better ....

So that's what I do, I exercise every day, I put on my favorite music and I dance.

I have lost weight I am only a few pounds away from goal, I will make it by October 2010 and I am happy for the excuse to buy new clothes and I already have my ticket to go on vacation.

Don't give up! Just try again , always try again... You will win...
